  • Google has expanded its partnership with Reddit (๐Ÿ”— Here).

  • Google introduced a new state-of-the-art open model, Gemma (๐Ÿ”— Here), and on the same day, Google One AI Premium which is Gemini accessing Google Docs, Sheets, and more (๐Ÿ”— Here).

  • Perplexity partners with Vercel, opening AI Search to developer Apps (๐Ÿ”— Here).

  • Perplexity (again) just developed its podcast. Daily episodes with deep dives into tech, science, and culture, all drawn from their โ€œDiscoverโ€ feed and created in partnership with ElevenLabsโ€™ voices. Brilliant! (๐Ÿ”— Here).

  • Arc Search, the new iPhone App combining browser, search, and AI (๐Ÿ”— Here) is getting better bookmark and search results, thanks to AI (๐Ÿ”— Here).

  • Open AI is working on a web search product, partly powered by Microsoft Bing (๐Ÿ”— Here).

  • Brave Leo, the AI browser assistant now features Mixtral for improved performance (๐Ÿ”— Here).

  • Gemini-powered chat comes to Google Ads (๐Ÿ”— Here).

  • The power of Google AI comes into the new Samsung Galaxy (๐Ÿ”— Here).

  • Google SGE testing and development is ongoing, and growing (๐Ÿ”— Here).

๐Ÿงฉ The missing piece

Browsers, Search engines,s or LLMs? The war to lead the next-gen internet is launched. The exponential rise of AI has triggered the shift towards a completely revisited internet. The way we are accessing, consuming, and creating information is being deeply disrupted. The way weโ€™re gonna interact with each other (and sell to each otherโ€ฆ) too - hello AI Agent.

๐Ÿ‘€ My 2 cents

Meanwhile, Google's rapid pace of innovation since Google I/O signals a shift (albeit a gradual one, given its size) from an advertising-based model towards paid subscriptions for AI-powered products. Since they have no clue yet, which products will succeed, they are experimenting and testing like crazyโ€ฆ Search will certainly the main product affected by those testings.

๐Ÿ”ฎ What does that mean for us, AI content strategists?

Google may no longer remain the main gateway to the internet. As a consequences, โ€œranking on Googleโ€ should probably not be part of your top marketing goal anymore. The rise of AI-powered language models suggests that discovery is becoming just as important as traditional search. Yup. Discovery (in LLMs) could very soon be the new Search. Get used to it.
